  1. Covid cases will rise.
  2. People will quit jobs.

I visited the head office of Lucid medical diagnostics. Met Mr T.

I saw how customer care is working tirelessly to help customers get tested for covid.-19. This is a stressful time for everyone.

Right now one of the main person from the customer care team has tested positive for covid-19. He is not in the office right now. Taking much-needed rest at home.

The processes and systems me and Ravitej (it was mostly him, I was just helping around) built, are 'ok' but need to be better. Way better. Designed around how we thought it'll be useful for customer care, I saw the holes in our thought process.

But among the chaos, something stood out. The business aspect of it.

From what I understand, the centre will have to choose where they want to lose some money. When I say lose money I believe in revenue, not profit.

At this point, I am certain of two things.

  1. Covid cases will rise.
  2. People will quit jobs.

Here's the biggest takeaway... if you spread your team too thin, you might end up losing the entire business.

Sure Cases will rise, and people will want to get tested.

Should we take in all the test request? That will make the teamwork extra overtime. And sooner or later, you will have people quitting their jobs.

Soon you will find yourself, posting job vacancy on social media. In the middle of a pandemic. Asking for people to work with covid-19 test samples. Good luck with that.

I feel the right move will be in favour of your team. They are overworking, but they know this thing has a ceiling.

The meeting is tomorrow. I really hope they make the right decision.
